19-year-old Tiba and her friends fight for democracy in Iraq. Together with Khader and Yousif, she has started a medical team that helps the brave young protesters when they have been bathed in tear gas yet again.

Karrar Al-Azzawi is an Iraqi filmmaker. He graduated from the Norwegian TV School, at the Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences in Lillehammer, with BFA in Film Directing. He works as an independent film director, and is currently working with Integral Film and High & Low AS.
“Baghdad on Fire” is Al-Azzawi’s international debut film which had its world premiere at CPH:DOX 2023 and was nominated for the FACT:AWARD as well as DOK.horizonte Competition at DOK.fest München. And the film was shown at NRK, DRTV, and Aftenposten TV. In addition, he is working on the documentary film called “Dreaming Souls”.
