In the summer of 1986, haunted by the death of his mother, 13-year-old Karim returns to spend the holidays with his stepfamily in Boujad, a small town in Morocco.
Karim follows his father Messaoud who agrees, in exchange for a government check after 20 years in a factory, to leave France for good.
Feeling rejected by his father who has rebuilt his life, Karim tries by all means to earn back his love. But the « little Frenchy » struggles to fit in with his new family and the local kids, until he meets a mysterious outsider, Mehdi…
Omar Mouldouira was born in Paris in 1973, graduating in 1999 from FEMIS French Film school with a degree in sound engineering. After having worked on the soundtracks of several films, he became a member for the selection committees of feature films for the French National Center of Cinematography. Since 2004, he has been teaching audiovisual techniques, screenplay writing and directing in several film schools in France and Morocco. He has written and directed several short films that received awards in numerous film festivals and were also broadcasted on European and Moroccan television. After directing a documentary for Arte TV, he made his first feature film: A SUMMER IN BOUJAD.
