Israel is cut off from the rest of the world after the outbreak of a deadly virus. Gaza is the safest place now, and Israelis are desperately trying to seek refuge there, including British journalist Michael and his Israeli girlfriend Keren. The couple pay a pair of smugglers to transport them out, via Gaza. However, they find themselves stuck in a basement in Gaza, with Hamas on their trail, and their lives in the hands of hapless Palestinian market traders Emad and Waleed, and Waleed's long-suffering but resourceful wife Nuhad.
Academy Award & Palme d'Or nominated writer and director Basil Khalil was born and raised in Nazareth, to a Palestinian father and British-Irish mother. After studying for an MA at Screen Academy Scotland, in Edinburgh, Basil worked on a number of television productions in London. His first short film Ave Maria (2015) premiered in official selection at the Cannes Film Festival, then went on to receive an Oscar nomination and screen at over 250 film festivals, winning several awards.
